01/15/2013 Sandpoint vs. Timberlake (Senior Night)

Last night the Sandpoint Girls Basketball teams hosted their last regular season home games for the year as they hosted the Tigers from Timberlake High School. The JV, JVII and Varsity Teams all played and you can find individual galleries of each game on my website at this link: http://bit.ly/TmPJrS.

As is tradition the last regular season home game is Senior Night, last night Sandpoint celebrated their lone senior Jordan Speelmon.

As part of the celebration the entire team, including coach Bill Bender, sported custom made Jordan #22 headbands!

2013 Moose Madness

Last night it was time once again for the annual Moose Madness spirit games between Sandpoint High School and Bonners Ferry High School. This event features a variety of different competitions and one of the few things that is taken into consideration for the winning school is the score of the two basketball games that serve as the backdrop of the games. After the scores of the dance team, cheer leading fan spirit, stop and moose call competitions were tallied it was Bonners Ferry that was able to hold up the moose antlers in victory. 12/21/2012 Christmas Tournament Day 1 (Newport Photographer)

Every December Newport High School and Priest River High School trade off in hosting the annual Christmas Tournament. This was my third year covering the event which includes the boys and girls teams from the two rotating host schools as two other area teams. This year Northwest Christian and Selkirk were in attendance. After it was all said and done it was the Northwest Christian and Newport teams that would move on to the championship games the next day. Coeur d’Alene’s Lake City High School and Couer d’Alene High School faced off last night and when these two schools play there is always a lot of energy in the crowd, which makes photographing the students in attendance almost as much fun as photographing the game! I was set up to cover the three games played at Jordan Court which were the JV Girls, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. Here are some shots from the game as well as links to the full galleries.

The first meeting of cross border rivals Newport and Priest River for the 2012-2013 season took place last night.
