3rd Birthday Giveaway!

June 1st marked the 3rd birthday of Jason Duchow Photography and to celebrate we are having a birthday giveaway! I know that usually it is the one celebrating a birthday that receives the presents, but it is our fans and clients that have allowed this business to continue and to grow so we giving something away to one of you! The winner will be announced on Friday, June 14. Entering the giveaway is really pretty simple, here is what you need to do.

Follow on Facebook. You must be a fan or “Liker” on Facebook. Look at the right hand side of the screen where it says “Follow on Facebook” if it says “You like this” next to the Like Button then you have completed step number 1. Daranie’s Senior Photos – Session #1

Daranie is going to be a senior at Priest River High School and is one of my Class of 2014 Senior Models, for her first session with me we worked on her senior photos at the ranch of a family friend. We had a great time and had the sun not set could have kept going for hours, but as you will see with photos from the end of our session I am very glad that the sun did indeed set because the sunset made for an amazing backdrop for the final part of our session.

The Lakeland Hawks softball and baseball teams took the short trip to Coeur d’Alene to take on the Timberwolves of Lake City High School. I was there for all 7 innings of the Softball game and the last three innings of the baseball game. Lakeland vs. Lake City Softball: This Game / All 2013 Galleries

The last four photos from this game are from the same play. Lake City senior pitcher Casey Stangle was on second base when her team mate hit a fly ball up the middle of the field toward second base. Normally if the fly ball was caught in the air she would have a chance to get back to the base and avoid a double play, but Lakeland Shortstop Bekah Kastning caught the fly ball with her foot already on second, turning two. Unfortunately the runner ran right in front of me at the peak of the action but I thought the reactions to the play by the two players was worth sharing.

This afternoon I was at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum for the Kellogg vs. Lakeland Softball game. The Wildcats of Kellogg took the lead at the top of the 7th Erin Ogden came throug for the Hawks with a hit down the 3rd base line to bring in two RBI’s and a win for the Hawks. The spring sports season is underway and my first outing of season took me to Coeur d’Alene High School for a softball and baseball games as the Vikings hosted the Lakeland Hawks. I split time between both games and prior to the games I also grabbed a few shots of a JV track meet also being held at CHS. 02/08/2013 – Lakeland at Sandpoint (Sandpoint Photographer)

Last night I was excited to set up my new remote “Glass Cam”, a remotely triggered camera installed on the back side of the basketball hoop and positioned to shoot through the glass backboard. The glass of the backboard at Sandpoint High School is almost certainly the same one installed when the school was built over 20 years ago and it certainly shows it’s wear and tear with quite a few scratches but even with the very imperfect glass to shoot through I was able to get a handful of fun shots. 2013 Prairie Pig

After all the events of the evening it was the Lakeland Hawks that took home the final prize. Last night I traveled to Rathdrum to photograph the three basketball games between the Lakeland Hawks and Sandpoint Bulldogs. I was able to cover the JV Girls and the Varsity girls and boys games played in the main gym. It was the last regular season home game for the Girls so seniors Dakota St. Mark, Lena Pote, Jordan Ward, Josie Coder and Kacie Derby were honored for senior night.
